Painting Pumpkins in the Park

Our playgroup painted pumpkins in the park today.  It was so fun!  I asked everyone to bring a medium-sized pumpkin and an old t-shirt to cover clothes.

I covered the park's picnic tables with black disposable tablecloths.  I had black, white, green, purple, blue, and pink acrylic paint that I put into disposable paint trays for each child.  I had disposable cups filled with water, paint brushes, wipes, paper towels, and black sharpies to add names & small details if desired.  The kids had a blast decorating their pumpkins!

After painting pumpkins, the kids played on the playground while their pumpkins dried.  We had all brought picnic lunches and I made Candy Corn Cookies and Ghost Lollipops for everyone.  It was a great time!

  1. Very cool! I know the kids loved it. Sadly, I am so wired to make things look perfect I would have reprinted my kids pumpkin. I have issues.
